AI & Arts Lunchtime Talk
Experiential AI & The New Real Art Commission 2023
This seminar will explore the potential for artists and cultural organisations to develop AI-fuelled experiences fit for the next generation of globally connected audiences. It will present a vision for Experiential AI as a novel paradigm for fair and inclusive creative AI.
As conversational agents, virtual characters, interactive robots and other autonomous technologies increasingly become part of creative content, we have entered a new golden age for AI art. Yet major challenges come with these technologies, that can be blackboxed, inscrutable, energy intensive, and amplify harmful bias. Following the digital pivot after Covid, these are mainstream opportunities and concerns for the arts.
The New Real invites the AI community to join them in the challenge of developing creative tools that are accessible and legible.
This event will launch an open call for an Art Commission to work with an Experiential AI system and a dataset to explore the societal implications of AI and create a compelling new artistic work.
